Gate Safety Reminder – Damage & Vandalism
Our gates continue to malfunction due to improper use and resident interference with the gate safety mechanisms. Vehicles have reportedly been observed clipping sensors and following too closely behind other vehicles, while residents are blocking sensors with objects to keep the gates open, and other actions that can damage or burn out the gate mechanisms.
Please follow these safety rules every time you use the gates:
- One vehicle at a time. Do not follow another vehicle through the gate.
- Wait for the gate to fully open before proceeding.
- Wait for the gate to fully close before attempting to enter or exit again.
- Do NOT enter through the exit gates.
- Never block, cover, obstruct, or otherwise interfere with the gate sensors or mechanisms.
- Do not attempt to “trick” or bypass the gate system.
These gates are safety equipment, not something to be defeated or worked around. Improper use is causing repeated equipment failures and costing the Association thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs.
Please use the gates properly and responsibly. If you see a gate malfunctioning, report it to Management rather than attempting to fix, bypass, or manipulate the system yourself.
Thank you for helping protect the safety of our residents and preventing unnecessary expenses to the Association.
